1961 Fender Stratocaster Sunburst

This late 1961 / early 1962 Fender Stratocaster has just come in from the sister and brother of its original owner out of northern Minnesota. It's a nice late slab fretboard example with rich Sunburst finish and killer mint green guard. It's completely original and unmodified throughout and still has its original strap! It has some fret wear in first five frets or so, but I didn't find it to be so much that it wasn't fun to play. It's a blast to play on the original frets and the pickups sound strong and rich.

Measurements: 7.5lbs (3.4 kg) total weight. The neck measures 1.67" wide at the nut, 0.82" deep at the first fret, and 0.98" deep at the 12th fret. The neck pickup reads 5.65k ohms, the middle pickup reads 5.72k ohms, and the bridge pickup reads 6.18k ohms.

Dates: The neck heel stamp reads "11 - 61" (November, 1961). The potentiometer codes read "304 6142" (304 = Stackpole, 61 = 1961, and 43 = 43rd week of the year). 

Originality: All finish, parts, and solder are original to this guitar!

Playability: Excellent! The neck is dead straight, truss rod functions as intended, and the electronics are clean and operate as intended.

Condition: Good with typical nicks, dings, and scratches throughout. The mint green pickguard has a crack next to the neck pickup adjustment screw, but the pickup height adjusts as intended.
